Day1: Introduction to Prognosis IP Telephony Manager
Architecture and configuration
Learn how Prognosis servers (nodes) communicate with each other providing a total management solution for Cisco and Avaya IP Telephony environments.
Installation Planning
Learn how to plan and configure Prognosis IP Telephony Manager for various Cisco and Avaya environments.
Databases
Learn the difference between Collections, Summaries, and Replays. Learn to create and summarize Database Collections, start and stop Collections and Summaries, display collected data and control its replay, create a Database report, explain the operation of Autosummarization, perform the steps required to automate a summarization job, explain the parameters supplied to the summarization schedule, and view existing summarization jobs and log files.
Day 2
Displays introduction
Describe the purpose and uses of Prognosis Displays, navigate the Knowledge folder and identify the main documents, start and stop Displays, use the Document Navigator to locate and open Prognosis documents, create prognosis displays using tabular and graphical formats, customize a display, send Display data to Excel, and print Display data.
Displays intermediate
Filter Display data, add a prompt to a Where Clause, use limits to restrict data in a Display, sort and/or total records, add legends to the windows, add a title window, set preferences, modify the colors and fonts used, set the X and Y axis parameters, set the time mode and format, add color to tabular displays using Visual Alarms.
Thresholds
Understand how Prognosis thresholds are used to detect predefined exception conditions, use the packaged thresholds and understand what they do, create a threshold, start and stop a threshold, and understand how Operator Acknowledgement and Commands from thresholds work.
Day 3
Configurations
Learn to view configurations, start and stop configurations, and understand and modify their syntax. Learn the use of three important Prognosis configurations used in IP Telephony Management.
Web publishing
Make displays available in a Web browser, schedule Web Reports to be published regularly, create and edit the profiles, search for and display reports, and embed Prognosis Displays into your own web pages.
Security
Display the properties of a running configuration; save as a document; start the document; describe the procedure for setting application security in the Prognosis GUI; understand the use of the GRANT and REVOKE statements; describe the functionality of default, low, medium, high, and maximum security.
Maintenance and troubleshooting
Learn to maintain the Prognosis IP Telephony Manager installations through patches and service packs, backing up, and restoring critical files. Learn to generate an IRFAX to provide the IR Support Team with the information required to troubleshoot any operational issue.
